AIHDA, established in 1983 under the Societies Registration Act, works to promote and encourage the science, practice and development of housing across India. The Association focuses on advancing housing knowledge, training, capacity building and addressing technical, financial and administrative aspects of housing through discussions and collaborative initiatives. The Hon’ble Union Minister for Housing is the Chief Patron, the Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Housing serves as Patron, the Secretary to the Government of India (Housing) acts as President, the CMD of HUDCO is the Vice President and Chairman of the Executive Committee, and the DCP of HUDCO serves as the Secretary General of AIHDA
AIHDA provides a unified platform for organizations and professionals in the housing sector to collaborate, share knowledge, and address key challenges in housing development. It promotes standard practices, improved planning, design, construction, administration, and maintenance of housing projects. AIHDA conducts discussions on technical, financial, and administrative issues, undertakes consultancy assignments, prepares project reports, and supports capacity building through training, skill enhancement, and knowledge updation in the field of housing and human habitat development.
